Fragile & Bright

“We now have this light shinning in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.”
– 2 Corinthians 4:7

Fragile and bright. Broken and transformed. Weak and so strong. Powerless and powerful.

This verse reminds me a little bit of glitter. It is so sparkly and catches everyone’s attention, yet without any light, it goes unnoticed. It remains a simple and fragile speck.

We are kind of like a little piece of glitter, and God is the light that makes us shine. We are so weak and pathetic on our own. With the power and mercy of God though, we can catch the attention of anyone around. A life being lived for God is evident to all. We should be shinning so bright that people can’t look away.

Take a few minutes to reflect on your own life. Are you surrendering to God? Are you letting Him be the light of your life? Are you sparkling?
