DIY: Felt Message Banner

I don’t know about you, but I find all the little messages you can put on decor and accessories and clothes so inspiring. They make me smile and just feel a little bit better about life in general. Today we have a little tutorial for you on how to make your own felt message banner. I used the phrase “love you more” but obviously you can use any phrase that sticks out to you.

I can’t wait to find a permanent home for this little banner!

Supplies: 2 sheets of felt, scissors, 12″  x 3/16″ wooden dowel, thread, sewing machine (if you don’t have a sewing machine you can either hand stitch the letters on or use a hot glue gun to attach them)

Step 1: draw your letters on to the first sheet of felt and cut them out.

Step 2: Fold over top of felt, sew a little sleeve for your wooden dowel to slide into (if you don’t have a sewing machine you can use a hot glue gun to attach it or hand stitch the sleeve).
Step 3: Pin the letters of your first word in place.

Step 4: Continue to place letters on felt and sew on.

Step 5: finish sewing letters on. Insert wooden dowel. Measure middle of felt on bottom and cut out on either side at the same angle.

Step 6: Tie a small string on both ends of the wooden dowel.

All done! Hang up your little banner wherever you wish!
